Google launches Flight Search service in India

Bangalore, January 14 2015:  Google has launched an Indian edition of its  Flight Search tool, partnering with  online travel aggregator, Goibibo.com.
On using Google Flight Search in India, travellers are offered the option to book the best flights available directly on the airline site or via Goibibo.com.
Says Ashish Kashyap, ibibo group  Founder & CEO:"Goibibo is the first OTA in India to partner with Google for Flight Search This is in line with our philosophy and core differentiation of delivering the fastest booking experience to our travellers”.  ibibo also owns the bus booking site redbus.in.
India  has a number of  online travel aggregators -- Yatra, MakeMyTrip, EaseMyTrip, ClearTrip etc. Google's FlightSearch service has been available in US and other regions since 2011.  The main difference it brings that unlike third party aggregators, it lets the user book at the chosen airline's original site.
However in India this is not necessarily an advantage since the third party sites often offer ticket prices that are more attractive than the airline site for the same flight. EaseMyTrip's USP is that it levies no  processing fee  -- which makes every flight at least Rs 150 cheaper than the lowest airline fare.
Moreover  sites like MakeMyTrip and Yatra routinely  provide discounts of their own and in addition offer special deals when flight bookings are combined with hotels.
