Kerala Tourism introduces virtual multimedia  tour guides

July 31 2022: Kerala Tourism has launched a QR-code-based virtual travel guide aiming to spread information on tourist locations in the state easily and quickly.
Minister for Tourism P. A. Mohammed Riyas expects that  it would provide information on the distance to the nearest bus stand, railway station and airport, working hours of tourism spots, and their contact numbers. Even the the tour guide has in-depth details about tourist places .
Travellers who scan the QR code displayed at tourism locales and properties will get an interactive e-brochure about the state’s tourism centres together with videos The virtual guide will give information on tour packages and properties. The e-brochure works in auto mode too and provides highlights of tourist destinations, along with short videos and high-resolution pictures. 
The ‘Table of Contents’ and ‘Pages’ tabs give you the freedom to go to any page at any time. If required, you can download selected pages or the entire content in pdf format. The distance to the nearby railway station, airport and bus stand, the timings and the phone number of the destination are displayed on the left side of the page. All of them have embedded links. With a single click, you can visit the respective websites or the social media accounts of the destinations.
When we checked, IndiaTechOnline found a good guide to Fort Kochi and another on Culture. The rest were mainly descriptive of KTDC hotel properties. However other attractions are expected to be added.
