Buffalo RAID back-up drives for home, small office

With heavy video  and movie content increasingly available  for home users from dish television, set top boxes etc,  integrated storage is an option many have to consider -- and this needs to be a few terabytes at the least.  A secure backup option therefore becomes  a 'must-have'  for the home -- as long as it is not too costly.  There may be  help at hand: Japan-based networking, storage and multimedia products leader, Buffalo Technology, has brought a double-drive external storage solution to India, offering lay users and small businesses, the ability to incorporate RAID -- redundant drive back up features in their computing systems.
The Drive Station Duo in sizes from 2 terabytes to 6 TB, has an option of USB 3.0 -- or USB 2.0 plus eSATA interfaces, offering speeds of 5.0 GBPS, 480 MBPS and 3 GBPS respectively. It is compatible with Windows Server 2003/2008 and is also available with backup software, that quickly backs up your entire server system and database. Also bundled are Buffalo Tools, a feature loaded suite of tools planned to boost workstation performance and monitor the digital life of Windows users. It also comes with an Eco Manager mode that reduces the power consumption up to 80%.
DriveStation Duo is available in combination of two variants – HD-WLU3/R1 Series with USB 3.0 Interface ( 2TB: Rs 12,500; 4TB for Rs 21,000 and 6TB for Rs 37,000 ) and HD-WLSU2/R1 Series with USB 2.0 and eSATA interface (2TB for Rs 11,000 and 4TB for Rs 20,500).
