Asus NX90 notebook: a high end HD desktop replacement
Alex Huang, Country Manager, System Business, Asus India, launching the NX90 in Mumbai, Aug 17

Leading consumer notebook vendor, ASUS, best known for launching the Net book form factor with the aggressively priced EeePC, has launched in India, a machine at the other – high—end of the portable computing spectrum: the ASUS NX90 is almost a desktop replacement: 18.4 inch full high definition LED-LCD screen; an Intel Core i7-720QM Processor 1.6 GHz; 8 GB of DDR III memory and a jumbo hard disk storage of 1 TB.

The aluminium bodied machine’s innovative physical arrangements are work of designer David Lewis and audio leaders Bang& Olufsen who have joined with Asus to harness their ICEPower sound technology to enhance the former’s SonicMaster system – the speakers are outside the chasis on either side of the displkay.

Other unusual design features include two touch pads to the left and right of the keyboard, to allow two handed control.

The ASUS NX90 was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year and had its global launch at Computex Taipei in June. Its is available in India for Rs 1,31,999.
At this price it seems angled to attract hardcore gamers and movie fans.
