Ziox DuoPix is an affordable dual lens camera phone

Bangalore, August 17 2017: When one goes smart-phone shopping,  one always looks out for what’s the trending feature. And we all know that the buzz in the market right now is the ‘dual-lens’ camera. Many known names like Vivo, Honor, and Oppo have come up with devices that have this feature of capturing photos with two lenses for either their primary or front camera. Just like any other hot trend even this one comes  at a premium price. But recently an Indian manufacturer, Ziox Mobiles came up with an affordable dual lens camera device, the DuoPix.

The smartphone is first from their series of dual lens camera phones. It comes with two( 8 + 2 megapixel) wide angle front camera and an 8 megapixel rear camera. The front camera was a decent performer and could capture selfies with good picture quality, while the rear camera can be said to be about average. The 5 -nch device comes with a plastic body. It weighs 143 grams with 9.1 mm thickness that feels light and sleek. The HD IPS display has 1280 x 720 resolution. Another interesting feature is the dual 4G SIM slots, which we feel is a convenient option.  It runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with a 2GB RAM and SC958 chipset. The 2500mAh battery includes fast charging capability. The internal memory of 16 GB is expandable up to 64 GB.  It also supports OTG (USB On-the-Go). The only missing feature is the finger print sensor -- but few  owners care to use it even when it is offered.

Started in 2015, Ziox has been offering budget smart-phones as well as feature phones. At the launch event of DuoPix, the company also announced its future plan to set up two new manufacturing units in Sikkim and Noida and R&D facilities apart from the existing New Delhi unit, with a holding capacity of around 1 million units per month.  Ziox also has a manufacturing plant in China. Apart from smartphones, they have plans to enter the mobile accessories and consumer electronics segment.

Ziox Mobiles confirmed that the DuoPix will be priced below Rs. 8,000 and will be available soon in the market.  Even though  low on price, the device  does not  compromise on features and we feel it’s  more than worth the money.
