Bangalore, May  12 2017: When a smart phone  is  entirely made in India, and is inspired by Sachin Tendulkar (who is an investor in  the manufacturer, heads are bound to turn. Interestingly, the device launched by home-grown device and IoT company, Smartron, is best summed up in words used to describe Sachin – a pocket rocket. Small in size, but a lot of interesting features under the hood.
It’s not very often that we have a desi device under Rs. 15,000 that comes with capabilities like Quick Charge, dual SIM VoLTE, fingerprint unlock in 0.09 seconds, and NFC features. The recently launched Smartron srtphone phone is a 5.5 inches device that is powered by the Qualcomm 652 processor. With a 13 MP back camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and a 5 MP front camera that is optimized for low-light performance, the SRT phone is small and sleek, fitting into your palm rather snuggly. The back panel comes with engraved images of Tendulkar.
There are two interesting features that are rather unique, One, the device has increased ‘usable space’. Most devices (32 GB, 64 GB, or whatever), lock in a certain amount of space for the operating system itself, leaving the rest as real storage for the user. Smartron’s R&D folks have been able to maximize this space by keeping the OS as thin as possible. This goes a long way in unlocking more space for you to store your files on the device. Another interesting feature  that is built into the device is radiation control.  The srtphone claims that it a smartphone that expels least radiations during use. While most other smartphones have an SAR rate (radiation levels scale) exceeding 1.0 to 1.6, this uses 0.6W/kg SAR. Consequently,  less heating, making the device Indian summer friendly.
Like its other devices, the srtphone too comes with Smartron’s bouquet of offerings such as the tronx cloud platform, and unlimited t.cloud storage.
