USB 3.0-enabled SanDisk  Extreme flash drive
Ten-fold speed improvement with USB 3.0

SanDisk has started shipping Flash (thumb) drives tailored to work at the faster transfer speeds of the new USB 3.0 standard, which around 190 MBPS can be up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. The catch ofcourse is that in addition to using a 3.0 device, you need a 3.0 USB port on your parent platform -- laptop, desktop, tablet or whatever. Chances are, unless you bought that platform in the last 6-8 months, it will  have only USB 2.0 ports -- and the effective speed advantage of using the SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 flash drive   will be nullified as transfer speeds drill down to the lower speed.
However when we tried the Extreme 3.0 USB, with a PC equipped with USB 3.0 ports, we could feel a palpable improvement in the time it took files of 2-3 GB size -- around half a minute. The drive comes with a folder containing SanDisk's Secure Access tool which allows the owner to configure a password-protected private folder on the drive, secured with 128-bit AES encryption.
Also available on the drive is a quartet of useful applications: a 60 day trial version of McAfee Internet Security Software, a sidebar on Internet Explorer to make trading on eBay easy; GOToMyPC, an app that lets users sync to their PC or Mac desktop from any machine via Internet and RoboForm's multiple password manager. The minor problem is, you have only one install option -- which means it's all or nothing.
Once your Extreme USB is registered, Sanisk also provides 2GB of free online backup on the cloud.
The product comes with a lifetime warranty and is available in in India 16GB, 32GB and 64GB  in the price range of Rs 1,651 to 5,189. That makes these drives rather costlier than USB 2.o drives of similar capacity -- but if you have the need for speed, the asking price may seem reasonable!
