New Delhi, September 28, 2015: Global leader in energy management and automation – Schneider Electric -- has appointed  Prith Banerjee as its new Chief Technology Officer. Prith will be in charge of accelerating Schneider Electric’s R&D throughput and of driving the Innovation and R&D simplification programs under the Company Program “Schneider is On”. He is also a member of the Schneider Electric Executive Committee.
 Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Prith was associated with Accenture as the Managing Director of Global Technology. He was responsible for overseeing Accenture Technology R&D group, leading the Technology Labs which explores new and emerging technologies, directing Accenture’s annual Technology Vision research, and supervising Accenture’s Open Innovation program with startup companies and universities.
He has also been associated with organizations like ABB as the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President, and HP as Senior Vice President of research and Director HP Labs. Prith has spent a major part of his career as a Professor, Department Chairman, and Dean at the University of Illinois, and Northwestern University. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
