Good news for WorldSpace fans: their favourite music now downloadable on EAFT's tablets

December 12 2012: Bangalore based product & solutions  company EAFT Technologies,  has launched two new tablets in its Destiny line which  come pre-embedded with an application  that allows  fans of  WorldSpace  music to download their favourite  music and listen  to it when they choose.

WorldSpace  was the iconic satellite based  multi-genre music service which had its global debut in India a decade ago – but  ended its  service in India  two years ago after the parent company folded.

Now  for  the first time anywhere,  WorldSpace would be made available as a service on smart devices like tablets. The WorldSpace application will come pre-embedded on  the two models launched by EAFT --D90P and D70T. This means users can download WorldSpace programmes  -- 72 hours of music in 12 genres -- on EAFT’s Destiny tablets and listen to them as per their convenience, an improvement on what was a live, radio-like service, while it lasted. A total of 72 hours of music across 12 channels is available for consumption on a daily basis through this service. This content is refreshed daily and is DRM protected to avoid piracy

The D90T  has a 9.7” IPS display on Android 4.0  and can play full 1080p HD content, and has an HDMI port to be able to display the content on bigger screens. Powered by a 1.6 GHz Dual Core Cortex A9 processor, it has a range of ports to extend the hard drive capacity to using accessories with the tablet.  It gives a battery life of 8hrs of continuous video playback with an 8000 mAH battery. The Rs 16990 device is currently offered for  Rs 14990 at  the EAFT site.

The D70P is a compact, 7” tablet that has a built in 3G radio providing universal connectivity regardless of location. With a 1024x600 IPS panel HD display, this device is powered by a 1.6GHz Cortex A9 processor. The D70P comes with HDMI, USB, extendable memory card slot and a 4000 mAH battery. It is being offered for  Rs 10,990 agaainst an MRP of Rs 12,990.
