Taiwan targets India with broad range of IT, consumer electronics products

Mumbai, July 31 2011: Taiwan’s ICT industry, which comprises some globally renowned players like ASUS, ACER, ADATA, Avision, AVerMedia, BenQ, D-Link, Edimax, GIGABYTE, HTC, Transcend, and Optoma have created significant impact on Indian consumers and Indian ICT market.

Taiwan has concentrated on information technology to build a concrete foundation of research, development. As a result, latest electronic products, such as personal computers, smart phones, storage devices, and broadband equipments and media players from this island are among market leaders in these areas. In 2011, every one in every four laptop carries a Taiwanese brand such as Acer or ASUS. In fact, these two companies are amongst the top 3 largest laptop makers of the world.
 A fairly large portion of the world’s USB flash drives is manufactured by Taiwanese players such as Transcend, ADATA, PQI, and Silicon Power. Since the first days of computer multimedia, Taiwan is an important source of TV tuner device, set-top boxes, projectors and other entertainment units from companies such as Optoma, BenQ, AVerMedia and PX. 
Optoma is currently the third largest DLP projector vendor of the world exploring new opportunities in miniaturized and 3D projectors; and BenQ has quickly become the world’s second place in DLP projectors as well as the second largest short-throw and 3D projector brand in Asia.
