Acer is now no. 1 on Indian desktops -- IDC

MUMBAI, March 14, 2012: Taiwan headquartered Personal Computer maker Acer, became the No 1 in the desktop segment in India, with a market share of 12.2% per cent in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to IDC’s latest report*. Acer achieved the top slot in the desktop category with Q-on-Q growth of 5.2% and witnessed Y-o-Y growth of 19.4% that accelerated the performance of the company.

Acer has been the no 1 netbook vendor in India for 10 of the last 13 quarters and the no 1 TFT monitor vendor for last 9 quarters. It is the world’s no. 4 PC vendor and also no. 4 in India with a market share of 11.15 percent according to IDC ( Q3 2011).
