Indian e-gov initiatives honoured

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances  and the Department of Information Technology of the Government of India have announced winners of the annual awards in e-governance, on the sidelines of the 14th National Conference on e-governance, held in Aurangabad last week. The awards Recognize achievements in the area of e-Governance; Encourage horizontal transfer of successful e-Governance solutions.; Promote and exchange experiences in solving problems, mitigating risks, resolving issues and planning for success.
This years awards recognize Karnataka’s online system for village panchayaths ( councils); a financial inclusion system of the Punjab National Bank, an agriNet programme in Tamil Nadu and e-krishi programme in Kerala, an electronic gateway from the Customs department to name just a few.
