Digital publisher Pratilipi teams up with audio app Storytel

January 2 2021: Pratilipi, India’s largest digital publishing and storytelling platform, has  entered into anew partnership with the audiobook app, Storytel. The partnership will see five of Pratilipi's most popular stories adapted into audiobooks to be hosted on the Storytel app.
Pratilipi was founded with a vision to unlock the literary talent from across India and acts as a digital ‘open-mic’ for writers, with the app providing a popular and safe space to upload stories for any user. The platform now hosts 3 lakh writers, 30 lakh stories, and 25 million monthly readers and the five chosen stories for the partnership with Sotytel have been collectively read over 200,000 times. The new audiobook adaptations will help Pratilipi support their writers to reach new audiences through a new medium and engage with an increasingly popular mode of literary content consumption.
The first audiobook titled Cinderella is now available on the Storytel app, with four more stories set to release from January 2021. The full list of adaptations includes Behroopiya and Cinderella (both horror, fantasy-fiction stories by Varsha Srivastava), Ehsaas Ektarfa (a romantic drama by Neera’s), Hamdard Saathi (by Varman Garhwal) and Three Legends and One Angel (by Manoj Kumar Pandey).
