Wabtec inaugurates India Engineering and Technology Centre

Bangalore, December 17 2019: Leading technology supplier for the freight and transit rail industries, Wabtec Corporation  has opened the Wabtec India Engineering and TechnologyreWITEC)  here to support growth and innovation.
WITEC is located on the South Block of ITC Green Campus on Banaswadi Main Road. It will occupy five floors of the building and represents a $5-million investment into Wabtec’s capabilities and presence in India. The Engineering and Technology Center will host engineering teams spanning across the company’s Digital Electronics portfolio and will feature cutting edge labs. These include validation labs for Distributed Power, Positive Train Control, Trip Optimizer, Electronic Air Brake, Signaling Systems, EdgeLINC and many other products for Wabtec’s Advanced Train Automation solutions “Wabtec is building upon its long history in India with this Engineering and Technology Center,” said Sujatha Narayan, Regional General Manager – India region, for Wabtec. “It demonstrates our continued commitment to the country and our customers in India and around the globe.”
|The new centre currently has over 600 employees. The team is expected to grow to over 1000 by the end of 2020 and will also include partner resources.
