Niki extends the power of voice & vernacular transactions to Bengali

September 17 2019:  Niki, India’s first voice and vernacular enabled commerce app for the next billion internet users of Bharat, has recently made its services available in Bengali, enabling additional 10 million people to do online transactions in their first language.
It aims to empower the Bengali speaking population to move beyond apps like WhatsApp, TikTok and Facebook to things like Digital transactions.   Ekṭi bhasha jôtheshṭo nôy: “One language is never enough” is a common Bengali phrase that reflects the love that Bengalis have for languages and literature. According to a census data, Bengali is the second most spoken language in Indian states including West Bengal, Assam, Bangladesh and Andaman, and Nicobar Islands.
Niki is the first app to crack online payments for the upcoming internet users emerging from Tier 2,3,4 towns of India who were yet to transact online, mostly due to language barriers and complicated interfaces.
Says Sachin Jaiswal, CEO, Niki.ai:  “ Having been brought up in West Bengal, it gives me immense joy in making Niki’s services accessible to the Bangla speaking population of the country. We at Niki, are truly elated at achieving these milestones that are taking us closer to our vision of enabling online commerce for all of Bharat. I believe in the power of technology in bringing communities together and making lives easier and that’s what we are working towards.”
