New Delhi, July 30 , 2019: Global leader in Home Appliances & Consumer Electronics Haier,  is to set up is second industrial park in Greater Noida, At a groundbreaking event yesterday in Lucknow, the company committed to make Uttar Pradesh state an innovative hub.
 The event also witnessed presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, SYogi Adityanath, the state’s Minister for Industrial Development,  Satish Mahana, along with leading industrialists of the country. . Haier is investing  Rs 3069 crores ( Rs 30.69 billion)  in UP government’s project to set up its second Industrial Park in Greater Noida. Followed by the company’s first manufacturing plant at Ranjangaon in Pune, the new plant is a part of Haier India’s strategy to meet the rising demand of consumers and generate job opportunities in the state of Uttar Pradesh
During the session,  Eric Braganza, President, Haier Appliances India Pvt Ltd, presented his views on the growing potential of Internet of Things (IoT) in the Indian market and Haier’s commitment towards Research and Development (R&D) for paving the way for the future of home appliances in India. He further focused on the impact of new age technologies which are shaping the reality for smart homes and the government’s proposed vision of 100 smart cities out of which 11 major smart cities are from UP.
With the second industrial park, Haier aims to scale up the production capacity of categories like refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, LED panels, and water heaters. Once functional, the new industrial park in Greater Noida will hold an annual capacity to produce two million units of refrigerators, one million units each of LED TVs, washing machines and air conditioners. It will further generate around 4,000 new direct employment opportunities along with over 10,000 indirect jobs in the country. Offering an opportunity for vendors and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to scale up and bring about an expanded business with increased local production and lesser dependence on imports.
