Delhi, June 21, 2019: RiGO Taxi, a government-approved, smart meter-equipped, app-based taxi service for the  Delhi National Capitol Region, has signed up 700 cabs in a short span of twenty days. The pilot phase of RiGO Taxi Service is slated to expand to other metros and state capitals.
RiGO is a Smart Taximeter, supported by an app-based solution available both on Google’s Play Store as well as Apple’s App Store. The service is recognised by the State Transport Authority in Delhi NCR and by various State Transport Departments across the country as an app-based taxi aggregator service like other well-known brands.
Besides app-based booking, for the comfort of the travelling public, RiGO Taxis can be hailed directly, without the need for booking via mobile app.
In Delhi NCR, taxis installed with RiGOÒSmart Taximeters will charge a fixed fare, as per government-approved tariff charts (currently Rs. 12.50 per km for non-AC taxis and Rs. 14.50 per km for AC taxis, Night Charge @ 25% extra, Baggage @ Rs. 20 per bag over 10 kg). In the first phase (pilot) 700 taxis have been deployed via RiGO Taxi driver-partners at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, in Dwarka sub-city area and major railway stations and inter-state bus terminals across Delhi NCR.

Since RiGO Taxis operate as per State Transport Authority tariff charts, no ‘ride time charges’, ‘cancellation charges’ or ‘surge pricing’ will be payable by passengers.Users can avail multiple payment options – either pay in cash or ‘go cashless’ through the app-based account or a mobile wallet like Paytm. Upon completion of the ride, passengers will receive a printed invoice via the on-board RiGO Smart Taximeter printer.
To protect passenger privacy, the ‘Smartwitness’ CCTV camera will only be activated if the passenger herself/himself chooses to do so by a simple one-time configuration on her/his smartphone. On boarding a RiGO Taxi, the passenger can choose to switch ‘ON’ the RiGO Taxi ‘Smartwitness’ CCTV camera via the app or directly via the on-board RiGO Smart Taximeter. As long as the ‘Smartwitness’ CCTV camera remains switched ‘ON’ the passenger’s movements are monitored till such time as she/he steps off the cab and into her/his home, school/college, place of work or other destination. Thus, the passenger’s safety and security are ensured during the ride and immediately outside the taxi surroundings.
