Mumbai, May 5 2017: Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo recently  has announced that it is now the new official sponsor of the Indian  cricket team. As a part of their sports marketing strategy, the company announced its partnership with BCCI (The Board of Control for Cricket in India) during the launch of their mid-range smartphone, the F3. A new team jersey carrying the mobile brand’s logo was also released at the event.
Sky Li, Global Vice President and President, Oppo India at the launch event said, “Cricket is a sport full of vigour and passion enjoyed by the youth of India. We believe that we share the same passion and spirit of pursuit of perfection as cricket that makes this association a perfect fit.”|
He added that this partnership will help them connect with the country’s youth
Rahul Johri, CEO-BCCI said, “We are excited to have OPPO join the BCCI family. OPPO Mobiles is pursuing perfect photography technology and it shares a common vision with BCCI. I am confident that we will work together to further grow Indian cricket!”
Oppo has signed a five year contract with BCCI and will be replacing Star India, who have been the team sponsor since 2013. Last year, the mobile maker had also partnered with ICC (The International Cricket Council) for the World T20 series.
