February 6 2016: Vu Technologies, recently unveiled its line-up of smart TV models under the Play and Iconium range in India.
Showcased earlier at CES 2016, Vu has added five models to its Iconium range, 65-inch 4K Smart, 55-inch 4K Smart, 50-inch 4K Smart, 43-inch 4K smart and 40-inch 4K smart. Four out of the five smart 4K models from the Iconium range are Netflix enabled, featuring built-in apps and dedicated button on the remote. These TVs also have a dedicated YouTube button. We got a chance to download and watch a few Netflix and YouTube videos at Vu’s launch event held in Mumbai and found that the videos were quite clear with less buffering.
The 43-inch 4K model is a gaming TV, which comes pre-loaded with few JiaJia Sports gesture control games. It also has an in-built app store for downloading other games. You can either use the remote or your smartphone as a controller for playing games. You can also use the smartphone as a remote control or stream TV content and watch on it.
The two Vu smart TVs in the Play series include the 32-inch and 48-inch models with ADS panel technology and Android 4.4 OS. The 32-inch is an HD ready model, while the 48-inch is full HD.
Vu has exclusively associated with Flipkart for its Play and Iconium range of televisions in India. “Our Partnership with Flipkart helps us optimize the e-commerce platform to tap the Indian shopper’s propensity to buy products online,” said Devita Saraf, CEO, Vu Technologies.
The smart TV models in Play series are priced at Rs. 21,000 and Rs 46,000 for the 32-inch and 48-inch, respectively. The 4K UHD models are priced between Rs. 40000 to Rs. 1,20,000.
