OPPO’s F1 targets the selfie lovers by sprucing the resolution and adding few decent features to its front camera

February 3 2016: Chinese mobile technology company OPPO, recently launched the first smartphone from its F series, the F1, in India.
“By officially announcing our emphasis on ‘Camera Phone’, OPPO reiterates the focus on mobile camera technology,” said Sky Li, OPPO Global VP, MD of International Mobile Business and President of OPPO India, at the launch event held in Mumbai.
OPPO also announced its partnership with International Cricket Council (ICC) for the mobile phone category for four years starting 2016. David Richardson, Chief Executive of ICC, present at the F1 launch event said,“Both cricket and OPPO connect people in an amazing way. I am delighted that the ICC is a part of the F1 launch.”
“OPPO is known worldwide for innovation and we are looking forward to an exciting partnership in the years to come, an association that will, through ICC’s events, bring fans together from around the world, creating an unforgettable experience for all involved,” he added.
Featuring an 8 megapixels resolution, the OPPO F1 comes with a wide f/2.0 aperture lens and a 1/4-inch sensor. For instantly editing your selfies, the F1 features a Pure Image 2.0+ photography platform with Beautify 3.0 feature. OPPO has also installed a screen flash to the front camera, for better image quality under low light. There’s also gesture and voice control for easy camera operations. The 13 megapixels rear camera comes with an ISOCELL sensor and the phase detection autofocus. It features anti-shake optimization for blur-free images.
Design wise, the F1 is a sleek and stylish looking device. It features a metal body, which feels thin and light to hold. The 5 inch display comes with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 screen. The device comes in two color variants, golden and rose gold. This smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon Octa-core processor with a 3GB RAM. It runs on OPPO’s Color OS 2.1, based on Android 5.1. It comes with a 16 GB internal memory, which is expandable upto 128 GB. The F1 4G enabled and also supports VoLTE.
Priced at Rs. 15,990, the OPPO F1 will be available across retail outlets in India from 4th February 2016. OPPO has also announced that it will be launching the F1 Plus in April 2016. It would be a high specification variant of the F1 and would be priced at Rs. 26,990.
