TEDx conference in Delhi draws eclectic mix of speakers

New Delhi,  March 4,  2015: Thought leaders from  across the world came to  TEDxJanpath,yesterday,  for a day of networking and dialogue around the theme “Lotus: Journey to enlightenment”. The event saw a  line-up of speakers from all walks of life: from a 13 year old New York Fashion Week designer from the US to a Martial Arts specialist from China to a Padma Bhushan recipient from Delhi.
The event commenced with Padma Bhushan award recipient and founder of Sulabh International, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak throwing light on how Technological innovations made difference in the lives of the untouchables.
His talk was followed by Patricia Bader-Johnston (Representative Director of eSurface Technologies in Japan and an active social entrepreneur), Sumit D Chowdhury(Author of Rules of the Game), Isabella Rose Taylor(13 year old Artist and New York Fashion Week designer from Austin, Texas, US), Sue Chen( Founder and CEO, NOVA Medical Products), Rumaan Kidwai(Independent Film Maker), Ms. Ameera Shah( Managing Director and CEO, Metropolis Healthcare), Master Li Junfeng(Founder and principal teacher of the International Sheng Zhen Society and appeared in four International movies), Leslee Udwin(BAFTA award-winning Director/Producer from UK), Tiffany Kelly( Global Head of Innovation for Impact International and Creator of the Global Flourish Initiative), Audrey Harris(CEO & Founder, Soubis), Madiha Sultan Tai(Co-founder and CEO of Lals, a Karachi based Patisserie and Chocolate brand), Amruda Nair(Joint Managing Director & CEO, AIANA Hotels & Resorts).  Lise Moulet, a multifaceted dance artist, choreographer and teacher from France graced the stage with her traditional and contemporary Indian dance

TEDxJanpath is an independently organized TEDx event operated under license from TED, which itself is a global platform devoted to “Ideas worth spreading”.
Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, NandanNilekani, Philippe Starck, NgoziOkonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. 
The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with the TEDActive simulcast event in nearby Whistler. The annual TEDGlobal conference was held in October 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
