The youth-focussed Virgin Mobile has been honoured as ‘Most Innovative Mobile Services’for the year 2009 at last week’s Infocom National Telecom awards in New Delhi. The awards declared jointly by INFOCOM, a BusinessWorld initiative and the Communications and Manufacturing Association of India (CMAI) are given annually to recognize Indian telecom players for their contribution in building a robust National Telecom Network
Through its Hatke brand DNA, Virgin Mobile has established a brand connect with the youth of the country. Since its March 2008 launch in India, Virgin Mobile has aggressively targeted a young audience.
In recent days, it has teamed with multi community mobile social messenger, Nimbuzz to offer a multibrand WAP chat application under the brand name of Vchatter, allowing users toaccess multiple instant messengers from a single login.
Sify Technologies a leader in enterprise data telecom services and consumer Internet with global delivery capabilities, won the award for the 'Best Telecom Data Center' at the INFOCOM CMAI National Telecom Awards . Sify launched India's first Level 3 data center at Vashi, Mumbai, in September 2000. Over the last 8 years, Sify has invested in centers in Chennai and Bangalore with increasing levels of sophistication and capability. In August 2008, Sify launched its fourth state-of-the-art data center at Airoli near Mumbai.
