Pune, July 16, 2013: Engineering services and manufacturing IT player, Tata Technologies, is to design and implement specialized educational programmes for skill development of engineering professionals, students and faculty for or the Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), in Pilani, Rajasthan state.
Tata Technologies will support existing BITS industry interface programmes such as Practice School I & II for internships and Industry Immersion for faculty refreshers and help it run specialized programmes created with expert industry perspective leading to specific degrees of BITS through its off-campus Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP).
Says Prof. G Sundar, Senior Professor, Chemistry, Deputy Director, Off-Campus Programmes, BITS Pilani: “Industry relevant education, in close collaboration with industry, has been a cornerstone of the educational philosophy of BITS Pilani for the last four decades. As the first step, a select group of employees from Tata Technologies will undergo a specially designed Masters Program (MS) in Automotive Engineering from BITS. The employees enrolled in this programme will attend classes online through virtual classrooms without being dislocated from their work environment.
