Adobe launches new edition of Acrobat, adds mobile and collaboration features
Umang Bedi, Managing Director, Adobe South Asia at the launch of Acrobat XI in Bangalore, October 4, 2012

Bangalore, October 5, 2012 — The new version XI of Adobe Systems document management solution, Adobe Acrobat has been launched in India, with new collaboration features – and recognition that users increasingly use the product on ultra portable platforms like smartphones and tablets.

One feature on the wishlist of many customers has been added: PDF editing and export to Microsoft PowerPoint. Also usefully, the “Combine” feature which facilitates combining PDFs, reordering them in a new binder and saving as a single PDF has been enlarged. Now one can put heterogenous file formats into the binder – PDF, Word, PPT, Excel etc – and have them saved as a single PDF.

“Acrobat XI is underpinned by four themes : increased individual productivity; collaboration; information security and work across devices”, explained Umang Bedi, Managing Director, Adobe Systems South Asia, at a media briefing yesterday, “Users must be empowered to work more effectively with documents anywhere on any device of their choice”.
Working with online forms, collaborative PDF reviews and the ability to add signatures are some of the new features of Acrobat XI which is being launched in three releases: Acrobat XI Pro (Rs 28,502), Acrobat XI Standard ( Rs 19001) and Adobe Reader® XI ( free).
