TataSky brings Video on Demand to India

Bangalore, December6 , 2011: Indian Direct to Home television provider Tata Sky, has announced the launch of Video onDemand (VoD) services. For starters, the service will consist of ‘Catch Up TV’ – the option for TataSky’s HD customers to watch programming that they missed, over the last five days, without having had to record them. The programmes can be downloaded from the Tata Sky serve and viewed at their convenience. , Catch Up TV will be providing the Top shows from channels like StarPlus, Colors, SAB TV, NDTv, SONY Entertainment, Channel V etc.
Later TataSky will launch its VoD movie library – an assortment of old and new movies that will be available to the subscriber for easy downloads. The movie library will host over 500-1000 movie titles across multiple genres and languages indigital quality. Subscribers can choose from erstwhile Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan movies to contemporary movies with RanbirKapoor, Hritihik Roshan and Aamir Khan.
The VoD service wil lbe available on the Tata Sky+ HD box and subscribers will just need to connect the Set Top Box to their broadband connection through an Ethernet cable.
