Compact Flash card warns users when end of its life cycle nears; helps avoid possible risk of unrecoverable data loss.
Flash memories are not forever. Unlike hard disks, they have a limited write/erase lifetime – and one day they will die on you, taking all the data you had stored on them, with them. Memory and storage products leader, Transcend Information’s new range of CompactFlash cards gets over the problems associated with such sudden data death. The CF200I CompactFlash cards come with Flash Life Guard software. Once enabled, this endurance-monitoring tool automatically monitors the flash cells in the card and reports when the safety threshold for write/erase cycles is reached. With this information, users can manage stored data more efficiently, and avoid the possible risk of unrecoverable data loss.
Now available in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, Transcend’s CF200I CF cards are touted as the CompactFlash storage solutions for mission-critical systems.
