Bangalore, August 6 2014: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has become  India's first B-school to join  online education provider edX as a new Contributing Member. As IIMBx, India's leading B-school will leverage new technologies and deliver education via MOOCs (massive open online courses) to a larger population of learners from around the world within a year from now.
"We are gearing up to create the capability to teach differently and edX is a great platform to extend IIM Bangalore's educational impact across the globe," said IIMB Director Dr. Sushil Vachani.

EdX, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based non-profit enterprise created by founding partners Harvard University and MIT, offers interactive online classes from the world's best universities. It was created for students and institutions that seek to transform themselves through cutting-edge technologies, innovative pedagogy, and rigorous courses.
