May 18 2016: Mumbai- based Genext Students lays claim to being India's 1st Hybrid Tutoring Platform with its combo of top tutors & digital content.
Genext Students has content panning across the curricula of four premier educational boards -- CBSE, ICSE, Rajasthan Board Uttar Pradesh Board. The company is the first to introduce content for the state boards of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It has over 185,000 registered students and more than 300 live tutors on its platform.
Tutor connect – its exclusive feature not only helps parents and students locate the best tutors in their vicinity but also assists them to connect via their technology platform. The team aggregates, verifies and brands individual home tutors lending credibility. Its digital content includes study material in English as well as vernacular languages like Hindi, bespoke assessments and intensive analytics tools that has become a hit among the student community.
When students take a diagnostic test in the beginning before they have actually started using the content, their performance is often found to come to an average of 42 to 43 per cent, but when they take the subject-specific assessment module test after referring to the content, their performance spikes to almost 60 per cent -- pointing to a strong improvement.
Twoyoungsters Ali Asgar Kagzi and Asad Daud realised that a distinctive way of increasing the efficacy of digital content was to ensure that it also brought along resourceful guidance from teachers. Kagzi, who holds a Masters in Management and Strategy from the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE) and Daud who has a Masters in Accounting and Finance also from LSE set up the company in 2013.
The company was listed among the top 40 edu-tech startups in the entire Asia Pacific region by Startup Daily in 2015. The same year, it was nominated for Red Herring Top 100 Asia awards.
