New Delhi, May 3, 2015: In line with the TRAI’s Telecom Tariff (60th Amendment) Order,  leading Indian  telecom operators  have slashed their national roaming rates typically by  40 % on incoming.
Here are specifics of the announced reductions:
 Videocon Telecom has slashed the rates effective 1st May 2015  to the extent of 75% on Local and National SMS; 40% on Incoming calls; and 23% & 20% on STD & Local calls resp while roaming. For Outgoing local voice call while on national roaming, the telco has slashed the price to Re. 0.80 per minute from the previous Re. 1.00 per minute. Videocon Telecom subscribers can now make Outgoing long distance (inter-circle) voice call while on national roaming at Rs. 1.15 per minute with a 23% price drop from earlier Rs. 1.50 per minute charge. The price of Outgoing long distance (inter-circle) Short Message Services (SMS) while on national roaming has been slashed to Re. 0.38 per SMS from the earlier price of Rs.1.50 per SMS.The telco continues to offer Free Incoming calls while Roaming on Videocon Telecom Network by default for all its Subscribers.
TataDocomo: Reduction of 40% in all incoming calls while roaming. Tata Docomo customers will now pay 20% (local) & 23% (STD) less for calls. Text message rates have also been slashed by 75% on National Roaming. On roaming, for all outgoing local calls, now the customer has to pay 80 paise/minute from the earlier Rs 1/min, and for STD calls it is Rs 1.15/min from earlier Rs 1.5/min. For incoming calls on roaming, the customer will be charged 45 paise/minute from the earlier 75 paise/minute.‎In addition, customers will now pay less for both local and STD SMSs on National Roaming. On roaming, for all local SMS, a customer will be charged 25 paise from the earlier Re 1/min, and for national SMS it is 38 paise from earlier Rs 1.5.
Airtel:   Outgoing local SMS rate reduced up to 75%. Outgoing inter circle SMS rate reduced up to 74%. Incoming call rates reduced up to 40%. Outgoing inter circle call rates reduced up to 23%. Outgoing Local call rates reduced up to 20%
Idea:  40% reduction on incoming calls, while roaming anywhere in India; STD call tariff reduced by 23% & Local call by 20%. SMS tariff reduced by 75%. Idea will now offer incoming calls at just 45 paise/minute, a reduction of 40%, while roaming anywhere in India. Outgoing Local call rates have been reduced by 20% and STD call rates by 23%. Local SMS will now be available for just 25 paise and STD SMS for just 38 paise, on roaming nationally.
The revised tariffs have become  applicable starting 1st May, 2015.
