December 12 2016: Buying televisions seems like a fairly simple task, as conventionally we just ask ourselves two questions, how much does it cost? and how big is it?, however with the recent advancements in the technology, televisions are now capable of great things such as converting 2D visuals to 3D, being used as monitor, connecting and streaming media from smartphones wirelessly and so much more.
Here’s a quick primer to help you buy one that’s just right for you… to make sure you get your money’s worth!
Bigger is better
The expression “Bigger is Better” makes up for a pretty decent guideline when it comes to television. Whether you’re looking for a basic or high-performance TV, the biggest factor in your decision will probably be screen size. If you are given an option to choose between a smaller TV with smart features and a simple bigger TV, it would be wise to opt for the bigger size for the same price which builds an immersive experience. if your room can accommodate a wide screen television, no other feature should be given more emphasis.
Larger screen are easier on your eyes, as more of your field of view is taken up with the roughly uniform brightness of the screen. In an otherwise dark room, your pupils are also more naturally closed to the amount of light thanks to the big screen.
Get the Right Connections
Different connections are essential to make you TV compatible with a larger number of audio and video sources, while buying a television it is important to keep in mind that your TV provides enough video connection even for the foreseeable future. The most important input is HDMI, which supports almost all major forms of digital video sources including Blu-ray players, game consoles, set-top boxes, cameras, camcorders, phones, tablets, and PCs through a single cable. It's the best way to stream 1080p video from your devices to your screen with one cable and will be the main way you connect your main sources of entertainment to your TV.|
Another important connectivity option to look out for is the USB Flash Drive support which allows you to directly access and view media for your Portable HDD, Flash Drives, and any other USB Device.
|Also, bear in mind that the ports are easily accessible as ideally, the ports should not be facing the wall. Such an arrangement makes it hard to reach the connectivity options once you mount the TV on your wall.
Do you need a Smart-TV?
Smart TVs are one of the first and easiest devices you can add to your living room to start to make your house in to a smart home.Obviously, to access the extra features which a smart TV offers an internet connection will be required. Many smart televisions feature an Ethernet port on the back, allowing you to plug it directly into your home broadband router however with recent technology some models are also capable of using the   Wi-Fi connection directly.
|Smart TVs allow you to access popular social media sites like Facebook, Twitter etc. also some smart television come with built in webcam that allow high quality video calling as well.TV manufacturers have also come up with online stores that give one the option to download extra applications and television.
The Best Resolution for You
At the top of the current TV market is the 2160p 4K Ultra HD Resolution, Televisions with a 4k resolution produces stunningly clear, detailed images offering four times the resolution of 1080P or full HD Television
1080p (Full HD) is by far the most common HDTV Resolution. Television with a Full HD Resolution allows you to watch Blu-ray movies, Full HD content and all TV programming at their highest level of details.
The Sound You Need
The sound is one of the most important factor when you consider buying a new TV, but as TVs get smaller and smaller it has become increasing difficult for manufacturers to insert speakers large enough to deliver good sound.
A wide screen TV with inferior sound quality could suck the fun out of your viewing experience. Hence it is advisable to take into account how loudly the inbuilt speakers could be heard so that it complements your viewing experience and gives you an immersive Audio-Visual experience.
It is always important to think long-term when it comes to buying television and given the different technologies being employed today, buying a TV can be quite daunting. Consider the above pointers and make the right purchase decision.
