Wings Vibe true wireless earbuds: wear it, forget it

Looks good, sounds great!

Bangalore January 25 2021:  The Wings range of audio devices are brought to India by the Nagpur-headquartered Brandscale Technologies  -- and the speed with which their catalogue is updated is truly breathtaking.  Just in the last 4 months, it has been my pleasure to review two variants of the true wireless stereo (TWS)  earbuds –Alpha and Slay – as well as a wireless neckband –Lifestyle.
Now I have been trying out another  pair of TWS buds – Vibe – the newest addition  to the buds range.  The nice thing is  Wings always makes small incremental improvements , in sound quality, comfortable fit, ease of controls….
The new buds have a form factor that I have come to prefer, the one with a sloping  inch-long stem  extending from the ear piece. I am getting on in years  and with the very compact in-ear buds, I have a bit of challenge locating the controls. No such issue here.
The sound is if anything, even better in the low frequency bass notes, though the drivers  can handle the full audio gamut from 20 Hz to 20 KHz.  The earpiece batteries are good for about 6 hours of usage, while the case retains charge for another 3 spells, ie 18 hours. One innovation over the two earlier models is the LED display on the charging case which indicates the quantum of charge – 0-25%, 25-50%, 50-75% and 75-99% with  one  to four bulbs: a small but very useful feature.
The Type C USB charging connector and  the ability to   invoke the Siri ( iPhone) or Google ( Android) smart speaking assistant is now fairly standard.  The price I saw on the company’s product website is Rs 2499, a significant discount over the sticker price. Go for it this new year!
