Seagate 3TB FreeAgent GoFlex:  a  world first  in external desktop storage

Hard drives and storage solutions leader Seagate has launched the world’s first 3 Terabyte (TB) external desktop drive in the Indian market.

The 3TB  FreeAgent GoFlex can store up to 120 HD movies, 1,500 video games and thousands of photos or countless hours of digital music.

Users can create, store and access content from either a Windows or Mac OS X computer.

The standard USB 2.0 interface can be upgraded to USB 3.0 or FireWire 800 by coupling the drive with the appropriate GoFlex desktop adapter to increase file transfer performance by up to 10x.

The GoFlex series is touted as the world's 'most upgradeable'
 desktop drive fort the various options it offers. A recent report by Parks Associates indicates the average consumer household will see its digital media storage needs grow to nearly 900GB by year-end 2014, driven mostly by video downloads and increasing use of DVR recording capabilities.

The 3TB GoFlex Desk external drive with USB 2.0 adapter costs Rs. 18,500 in India. The box comes with: GoFlex Desk Drive; pre-loaded backup software with encryption; GoFlex Desk USB 2.0 adapter base with capacity gauge; 5-foot (150 cm) USB 2.0 cable and  Quick Start Guide.
