The Amazfit Bip Lite  smartwatch monitors your heart rate continuously and alerts you when something is wrong
Bangalore, August 12 2019: Huami is a brand created by Xiaomi to fill the gaps in its portfolio of  smart personal devices. Its latest India offering is a smart watch -- Amazfit Bip Lite --  which is a more affordable avatar of the earlier  Bip.
It economises  by leaving out the GPS and deriving the information from a paired phone.  Its core offerings remain: the usual monitoring of the wearer's step, distance covered, calories burnt, sleep patterns -- plus a sensor touching the wrist that continuously keeps track of the heart rate. You can set a rate  for  an alarm to kick in and warn you. 
The rectangular 1.28 inch gorilla glass  display   displays bold info in sunlight or darkness  and a 200 mAh battery is good to go for about six weeks.
By using  silicone only for the wrist band and polycarbonate for  the body, the  makers have created an extremely light ( less than 32 grams) device. And yes you can wear it while swimming ( good for measuring your laps!)
Once synced to your phone, you get alerts and  notification. I found the controls easy -- mostly an up-down swipe works.  At Rs 3999,  solid value if you say 'bless my heart' -- and mean it! ANAND PARTHASARATHY
