D-Link's smallest-ever wireless network adapter

Networking solutions provider D-Link has launched its new wireless network adapter – its smallest so far  – in India. The Wireless N Nano USB Adapter(DWA-131), covers the 802.11n range, while maintaining compatibility with existing 802.11b/g wireless routers and access points. It offers a one-click connection for desktops or laptops, to latch on the the nearest WiFi hotspot.
The Nano Adapter's Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) feature enables an easy, one-time, secure connection with a WPS-enabled access point or wireless router, eliminating complex encryption codes. It automatically sets advanced security features using WPA2 encryption. As an alternative, D-Link's Quick Setup Wizard also provides an easy way to set up the USB
While most laptops come with built in 802.11 WIFI circuitry, they tend to be the slower b/g connections. Owners might like to have the D-link N Nano handy to obtain the higher speeds of 802.11n where ever available; while those setting up a new home of small office connections will obviously like to go with the new “n” speed – provided they also install an 802.11n broadband wireless router.

While these are all made to the same standards, we would recommend going for a D-Link router if you plan on setting up a new network and using the N Nano USB adapter, because that way you are assured of instant ‘recognition’ of nodes on the network and somewhat easier security setups.

The D-Link Wireless N Nano USB Adapter (DWA-131) costs Rs.1,850 & carries 1 year warranty.
