New Delhi,April 30 2017: So many of us have been bitten by the selfie bug and love devices that have good front camera features, but is that enough? A selfie-centric smartphone also needs a good processor, battery life and storage that could help you take thousands of pictures without any hurdles of app lags, low battery, and space. Vivo has been luring selfie lovers since last year and last week launched yet another device the V5s- an upgrade to the V5. The ‘S’ stands for two highlights of this device, selfie and storage.
Just like its predecessor the V5s has a whopping 20 megapixels front camera. It also comes with the Vivo’s signature, Moonlight glow, a flash mechanism that helps to take better pictures in low light conditions without overexposing the image. There’s also a new feature called ‘group selfie’, which pans the camera to capture a large group. For additional editing and beautifyng, there’s Face Beauty 6.0 We took a few shots and loved the picture quality, especially indoors. The beautification mode is good enough to hide dark spots and give smooth, bright selfies. The 13 megapixels rear camera provides decent image quality. You can shoot multiple frames to attain an effective 52 MP.Vivo has upgraded the internal memory of this device to 64GB, a good move. There’s also an option of expanding the memory to 256 GB via its hybrid slot.
Design-wise, the V5s look and feels more classy, especially in the matte black colour. It’s slightly morecompact and thinner that its predecessor, the V5. The 5.5-inch device easily fits in one palm. It has a curved at the edges metal body with 2.5D corning gorilla glass. There’s a fingerprint sensor, which is conveniently located at the bottom-front of the device. The screen resolution is 1280 x 720 Pixels and features an eye protection mode.
On the software front, there’s the “smart screen-split” feature that opens two apps at the same time. Another interesting feature is the app clone, that allows you to create copy of an existing app. For example you can create a clone of a messenger or any social media app and maintain two accounts in the same device. The device runs on 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa core processor with 4 GB RAM. Vivo has incorporated its own Funtouch OS 3.0 based on the slightly older Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The battery life of 3000 mAh is decent enough to last you one entire day. The device supports 4G VOLTE.|
The Vivo V5s is more than just a selfie smartphone that packs good features with reasonable pricing. Priced at Rs.18,990, it will be available from May 6.
