There’s more to office printing than the A4 size – even if it meets 80 percent of our requirements. The next leap in size – A3 -- has usually been a costly upgrade – but Epson’s release this week of an A3 plus inkjet printer, lessens the shock to a very large extent and will be considered by most small businesses to be ‘paisa vasool’
The Epson Stylus Office T1100 prints up to A3+ size (329 x 483mm). Standard A3 is only 297 by 420 mm so this will be useful to create jumbo marketing posters, charts, diagrams or large spreadsheet tables. The speed is quite acceptable: 30 and 17 A4-sized pages-per-minute for black and colour printing respectively, though we can’t imagine one would quote A4 print speeds for an A3 printer!
The Stylus Office T1100 features Epson’s Micro Piezo print head with Variable-Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) that achieves a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi .
The printer employs separate DURABrite Ultra inks so users only need to replace the colour that has run out . Epson’s INKdividual cartridges are also available in higher capacities that offer lower cost per page ... as we said in more earthy language uptop, a good value for money printer for the small office.
