Bhaskar Pramanik, Oracle India MD, moves on

Bhaskar Pramanik has left Oracle India , less than a year after he took over as Managing Director. Sandeep Mathur, vice-president, Technology, leading the company’s Database and Exadata business is the new MD.

Bhaskar was Oracle India Managing Director from April, 2010, replacing Krishan Dhawan, who headed Oracle for five years. He came to Oracle with the acquisition of Sun Microsystems: he was Corporate Vice President and President, Sun Microsystems India at the time of the acquisition. Prior to joining Sun, Bhaskar has held several senior management positions in companies like Digital Equipment India Ltd., Blue Star Ltd., and NELCO. Bhaskar is an engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He has also attended the Advanced Marketing Management Program at the Stanford University.
