Women are at the helm of India ops for global top tech companies

Bangalore, January 4, 2013: Vanitha Narayanan’s  announced appointment yesterday, as the India head ( Managing Director) of IBM ( see our story) appears to be in the tradition of global infotech companies in India, with women  holding  the top positions in this country. 

Only  three months ago,  Kumud Srinivasan, a 25 year old veteran with the company  took over as President, Intel India.

She was the second  woman in a senior position in the India operations of the company: Debjani Ghosh, 18 years with the  chip leader,    has been  Managing Director of Intel’s Sales and Marketing operations  for South Asia  since January 2012.

At Hewlett Packard India , Neelam Dhawan is Managing Director: she moved from Microsoft where she was  MD of the Indian operations from 2005 to 2008.

At   the India end of  France-headquartered Capgemini, Aruna Jayanthi is  CEO and leads operations with an employee base of around 40,000.
