SolidWorks 2013 launched in India, with  key  3D enhancements; iPad app and student edition also unveiled.

Bangalore, October 2, 2012: France-headquartered global leaders in 3D design software, Dassault Systèmes, has launched the 2013 edition of its flagship CAD product SolidWorks, with more than 200 improvements including new design tools and faster drawing & modelling capabilities, sub-model simulation, cost estimation, network rendering, and wider sharing and connectivity options.

He was speaking to IndiaTechOnline, on the sidelines of the company's Innovation Day in Bangalore recently -- part of a multi-city roadshow across India.

In recent weeks, SolidWorks has also released a dedicated suite of Plastics software: easy-to-use software tools that enable users to predict and avoid manufacturing defects during the earliest stages of plastics part and injection mold design.“Asia is the world’s largest consumer of plastics with per capita consumption of plastic products in India moving towards 2.5 times the GDP growth.
