South Asia's largest ICT show, Convergence India, opens this week in Delhi

New Delhi, March 20 2012: The 20th edition of Convergence India 2012 expo,  South Asia's largest ICT event opens in Delhi on March 21.
Themed as “India Goes Digital”, the expo will feature a wide range of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) if Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) including broadband, broadcasting, cable and satellite, data centre virtualization, digital money, Green ICT, IT & info security, mobility, security & surveillance, telecom, unified communications, VAS and WiMax.
 

Key speakers include , Indian Minister of State for IT and telecom, Sam Pitroda, Adviser to the Indian Prime Minister on Public Infrastructure, Robin Mersh, CEO, Broadband Forum.org, Ashok Jhunjhunwala, President, Mobile Payment Forum of India and Viswanath Alluri, President,miMobile, the world's biggest mobile advertising player.

In a special regional update, the Broadband Forum will be announcing the year-end 2011 global broadband and IPTV subscriber data, and highlighting the growth trends in the Indian sub-continent and in Asia. Robin Mersh, CEO of the Broadband Forum, will announce the figures and discuss the technical advancements behind the industry success. 

The event also sees the launch of some innovatie Indian applications: After last year's launch of the mPustak framework for vernacular languages last year, Hazel Media all set to unveil MobQuery platform at this year's Convergence India conference on March 21. MobQuery is a platform to collect, analyse, and manage really big amounts of data via mobile devices and multiple languages.The conference runs till 23rd March (Friday).

Group, organisers of Convergence India, Aegis School of Business and Bloomberg UTV in association with Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) have also announced that they will jointlypresent 3rd edition of Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2012, the largest TIME Award (Telecom, Internet, Media and Edutainment) in India... an initiative aimed to create an ecosystem to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of Telecom, Internet, Media & Edutainment as a tribute to the father of the telephony, Sir Alexander Graham Bell.
Aegis Graham Bell Awards- 2012 ceremony, is scheduled to be held on 11 May 2012 at New Delhi. The Jury round will be held during 20th Convergence India event this week.
