Indian  offering  tops paid iTunes entertainment apps

New Delhi, December 282011: An  India-specific music-news-radio offering -- IndiaONE --  has emerged as the  global number 1 paid application  in the entertainment category at iTunes, the Apple resource for iPhone and Ipad. The app was launched by Next Mediaworks ( they also own the Radio One brand in 7 cities) on September 18, 2011. The first 3 digital apps for ipad, iphone and a karaoke app were launched between October end and mid November.
According to the latest Apple / itunes charts, IndiaONE is the number 1 among ‘top grossing ipad apps’( entertainment).
The $1.99 app generally targets Indian ipad owners in the US , Canada, UK, India, UAE and Australia. “Paid apps are a stricter measure of consumer cocnfidence and we are happy we are on the right track. Almost all Indian music apps are free. We decided to be different and we are glad it’s working, This is just a great beginning but we have a long way to go before we meet our internal targets and benchmark” said Vineet Singh Hukmani, MD Radio One Ltd
IndiaONE will soon be available on Blackberry
Next Mediaworks along with BBC Worldwide has a joint holding in Radio One an FM Brand in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
