Bangalore, June 22: Karnataka's Department of IT, BT and Science Technology has unveiled the tagline for this year's trade show Bangalore IT.Biz as 'India Innovates'. In its 14th edition, the multi-track conference in co-ordination with NASSCOM will have an exclusive e-governance track along with a technology track. Additionally, the upgraded version of the popular Rural IT quiz, which became the National and Rural IT Quiz will continue this year, along with an India Innovation B2B forum.

Along with the announcement, Government of Karnataka unveiled its Electronics hardware policy. According to Muguresh R Nirani, Minister for large and Medium Industries, hardware manufacturing hubs would be set up in Bangalore, Tumkur, West karnataka and West Karnataka belts, in addition to a 100-acre mobile phone assembly plant in the outskirts of Bangalore.

 A revised ICT policy was also unveiled in Bangalore, which encourages setting up of technology parks in the B and C class cities in a public-private partnership model. "In order to decongest Bangalore, satellite townships would be launched at Ramanagaram, Hoskote, Bidadi and Devanahalli. We also have a strong thrust this year to build human capital in Tier II and III cities by offering affordable technology education", the Minister said.
