Gurugram, November 19 2021: Cab aggregator, Uber has begun serving riders and drivers in Warangal in Telangana, marking the company’s expansion to 100 cities across India. Initially, it has made a range of Auto and Car products available on its platform in the city. 
Uber launched in India in 2013 and it quickly became the ride sharing platform of choice by offering convenient, affordable and safe ways to get from point A to point B. Since then, it has served nearly 95 million riders and drivers, till date. Uber has and continues to launch industry-first products like Rentals, UberConnect, Auto, Moto and features such as driver tipping, 24*7 Safety Helpline, Call Anonymisation, and many more.

Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries, and IT & Commerce, Govt. of Telangana: “We thank Uber for launching this critical ridesharing service for the residents of Warangal. At the onset of the pandemic, Uber launched UberMedic, Uber Essential, Last Mile Delivery, and offered free rides to healthcare workers and vulnerable communities to #MoveWhatMatters during the lockdown. Earlier this year, as a part of Uber’s larger commitment to help India move forward, Uber pledged free rides worth INR 10 Cr to the Government of India and other reputed NGOs like HelpAge India, Robin Hood Army, American India Foundation, and UNESCO to remove transportation as a barrier for vaccination beneficiaries
