September 24 2021: US Siliconvalley-based Freshwork,with key development done in Chennai, has become the first Indian Saas startup to get a listing in Nasdaq, an American stock exchange based in New York.
The IT company's shares were at $47.55 at New York trading closing time on Wednesday, providing it a market value of around $13 billion, which in turn led to over 500 India-based company employees becoming “crorepatis”.
Freshworks, founded in 2010, was relocated to iSan Mateo, California in the Silicon Valley in a bid to be closer to its customers, despite having a substantial workforce in India in Chennai. Headquartered, Freshworks has a dedicated team operating from 13 global offices to serve 52,000+ customers including Bridgestone, Chargebee, DeliveryHero, ITV, Klarna, Multichoice, OfficeMax, TaylorMade and Vice Media.
