Some made-in-India apps that made it big

August 14 2021:Digital entrepreneurship, use of social media have been on a steady rise in India recently with the introduction of numerous exciting homegrown applications in the Indian market.On the eve of  Independence Day, we look at some of the top ‘Made in India’ applications that have hit the bulls-eye with the rapidly growing Internet consumers in the country.

In fact, it recorded the highest number of pre-registrations in less than 24 hours on the Play Store in India before its launch last year. Based on real scenarios encountered by the Indian Security Forces, the game has garnered a niche following for itself within a short span of time. Incidentally, 20% of the net revenue generated from the game is being donated to Bharat Ke Veer trust, an initiative implemented as a collaborative effort to support the families of Indian armed forces.
Koo – Koo, an Indian alternative to Twitter is a homemade version of the social networking platform that was launched in March 2020. Over the past 1.5 years, Koo has undoubtedly become the voice of India by providing Twitter like experience in Indian languages. The app has also been brought up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in one of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ addresses and is being used by top political leaders, celebrities and sports personalities. Koo is available on both Ios and Android, and has a webpage as well.
