New Delhi,  October 21 2019:  The Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology,  (MeitY)  has  launched a MeitY Startup Hub (MSH)  to promote  technology innovation, startups and creation of Intellectual Property. As a nodal agency,  the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an organisation under MeitY,  has been entrusted with the implementation of MSH. 
The hub was  inaugurated  here by Minister for IT and Communications, Ravi Shankar Prasad today at the MeitY Startup Summit 2019
STPI has been working for the creation of a startup ecosystem in the country and creating 28 Centres of Excellence in emerging technologies and  has signed four different MoUs with Intel India Pvt Limited, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, Pontaq and IBM for promoting innovation in Information and Communications Technology and related emerging fields during the MeitY Startup Summit 2019.
These MoUs will bring collaboration on knowledge exchange and enhancing cooperation between technological institutions, venture capitalists, industries and government agencies. The collaborative platform will leverage and bring startup intervention programme to STPI. The MoUs are meant for promoting entrepreneurship & create a nurturing ecosystem for STPI Centres of Excellence in areas such as digital and mobile payments, blockchain, IoT, big data, and other emerging technologies.
STPI has initiated the activity of setting up of various domain-specific CoEs across India. For this, STPI has planned for an online technology platform. IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP), a leading technology business Incubator under Department of Science & Technology, Government of India has been engaged as a knowledge partner for providing their expertise in the call for application, screening, onboarding & review of startups across STPI CoEs.
