Tata DocoMo  kicks off  3G services in India

Tata DOCOMO, has become the first private Indian  operator, to launch 3G services in the country. The GSM wing of  telecom provider,Tata Tele Services which has partnered the Japanese giant DoCoMo, started the service in 9 telecome circles across the country on November 5. 
The 3G services are available in Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, UP, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Kerala and Karnataka states.

Users are promised fast internet access with speeds of up to 21.1 Mbps. In addition Tata DoCoMo offers support to high-definition voice (HD Voice) and mobile TV.

The Hyderabad -based Apalya Technologies,has been selected by Tata Docomo as their partner for providing mobile TV services on 3G platform

Tata DOCOMO is said to have invested $500 million on its 3G services which will enable users to watch 50 TV channels on their 3G enabled handsets.
