Tally, the Indian business accounting and inventory management software, popular with small and medium corporates, is growing beyond national boundaries into neighboring geographies. Proof – if that is needed – comes from the just –announced tie-up with leading IT trainer and talent developer, NIIT, to create a talent pool of business software professionals with expertise in Tally.ERP 9, not just in India but across the Middle East, Africa, China & Asia- Pacific .

It is estimated that India alone needs some 1.3 million business software trained manpower annually to serve over 8 million IT –fuelled SMB units. But the partnership seeks to address the burgeoning need for Tally-savvy professionals outside India as well. 

Bharat Goenka, Managing Director, Tally Solutions says, “This will leverage the tremendous potential that the Tally product has generated across industry, and empower an upwardly-mobile SMB segment with aptly-skilled manpower.”

“This alliance will lead to creation of highly-skilled and comprehensive business software professionals for the SMB sectors in India and overseas,” adds Vijay Thadani, CEO, NIIT Limited.

Since June 2009, both companies had collaborate to offer ‘Beginner Training Programs on Tally.ERP 9’, at select Education Centres. Under the global alliance, NIIT will now extend its offering to comprehensive programs in Business Software with the ‘Diploma in Tally.ERP 9 & Business processes’ - a program for Commerce students. The program will cover Tally.ERP 9 that enables professionals to manage businesses with ease and efficiency. Further programs envisaged include a series of programs namely, “Tally for Entrepreneurs”, “Tally for Functional Heads” such as Purchase, Manufacturing, etc.

In the first phase, NIIT and Tally will launch the Program in Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, besides India. The program will be then taken to other countries. “We are looking at training 1,00,000 high quality ERP professionals over the next 3 years, with the current set of programs” says Avinash Gupta, President, Tally Solutions.
