Announces same day activation and free upgrade to existing customers with 4G-enabled device

Bangalore, February 12 2016:Telecommunications service provider, Vodafone India announced its 4G services here and other cities of Karnataka.
With this, the company the company  completes its first phase roll out, which also includes Kerala, Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai. Initially, 4G services in   the city would cover areas like  ould cover areas like Jayanagar, Basavangudi, JP Nagar, Electronic City, Bangalore International Airport, Whitefield, BTM Layout, Chamrajpet and Koramangala. A complete roll-out would be done by March 2016, making this one of the largest 4G rollouts in  any city, worldwide.
“4G has the potential to revolutionize the mobile experience through powerful innovation that impacts how we work and live,’ said Sunil Sood, Managing Director & CEO, Vodafone India.
He added, “As a steadfast partner of Digital India, we remain focused on deploying multiple technologies - be it 2G, 3G and now 4G - for optimum use as each technology has its own vital role to play in servicing the myriad connectivity needs of consumers across the country.”
Built on 1800 MHz band, this service would allow customers experience faster mobile internet connectivity.
Said Suresh Kumar, Operations Director South, Vodafone India : “Customers are moving away from the era of surfing to streaming.”He further said that the through this upgrade customers will be able to experience faster download and upload speeds along with high definition video streaming. The downloading speed of Vodafone’s 4G services would range anywhere between 10 to 30 mbps.
To avail the services, customers need to have a 4G-enabled handset and a new 4G-Ready SIM card. Existing customers can upgrade for no charge by exchanging their current SIM at any Vodafone outlet.
The company has launched an array of data packs ranging from a trial pack of 30 MB to a bonanza pack of 20 GB. The pricing would be same as their current 3G plans
