Reliance Jio broadband launch is an inhouse affair -- for now
RIL Chairman & Managing Director Mukesh Ambani networking live via video with over 1000 centres in India

Mumbai, December 30 2015: On the eve of the 83rd birth anniversary of Founder-Chairman Dhirubhai Ambani,  earlier this week, Reliance Industries  launched Jio,  its initiative to deliver hi-speed connectivity and 4G broadband services  across India.  But  the media has headlined the event as a soft launch  because  2015 ends without Jio actually reaching Indian subscribers.
The launch  is currently an in-house thing , restricted to the companies 100,000 plus employees country wide, many of whom were connected live  via video, for the launch, from over 1000 centres.
Said RIL Chairman & Managing Director Mukesh Ambani: “India and Indians cannot afford to be left behind in this new world.  India is ranked around 150 in the Internet and mobile broadband penetration out of 230 countries, Jio is conceived to change this. 1.3 billion Indians cannot be left behind as the world enters a new era. We have the youngest population in the world. Give them the tools.  Give them the skills.  Give them the environment. They will surprise us.”
Jio is widely expected to disrupt the broadband service market  when it  is  actually launched.
